Star Trek Online Review

the PvE: There are not enough missions (quests) you can do with and you must simply do the same tireless quest defense 0 / 3 or exploration 0 / 3. There is no instance of dungeon or the presence of a group is really necessary. Certainly there are ActionFleet type missions, which are more in the public quests warhammer model, where only the best are rewarded. Also there is currently no “Endgame”. The learning curve is very fast too see, and after a few days of playing, it is already at max Admiral. I know a lot of admirals who do more than chat in game, since they do nothing except to reroll one of only three classes …

-PvP: the current state of the game is a joke: the imbalance between Federation and Klingon is enormous. The other factions promised have not been established. So despite the various PvP Ranks, it runs on the same maps: because it boils down to only a few maps for all modes of gameplay addition that we have here in pvp instance limited to the manner of BG wow, and you have to wait long minutes queuing for a bg starts (on the federation at least). There are currently no open RvR or PvP

- The craft: no craft, but just a walk on the exchange of tokens (collection of anomalies) for upgrade of some equipment. In the end it takes a lot of effort for very little … When you trade 5 tokens for an object, we do not talk about craft, since the player does not manufacture anything …

- The community aspect into play almost nonexistent, “said contained no” social “as exists in many other MMOs, tools Fleet (guild) truncated: unimplemented uniform fleet, fleet emblem unimplemented Interface fleet of fucking evil (can see the grade but not rank, do not reveal the date of last connection … a member). Brief well below what is currently on the market.

The finished product quality: In addition to all this, the game itself suffers from a lot of bugs. While there are always bugs in release, but never more so since many are supposed to be fixed upstream in phases of alpha testing, beta testing to see. Gold bugs have long been known have not been corrected.
Finally, Cryptic has deceived the French and German communities in certifying a complete rental of the game since its commercial release, and having used it as a selling point.

Tracking: Recently, Cryptic has not deployed a patch “fixes” important (we even talking about the patch content is so far) and merely to correct a few missions here and there. So that as normal, when box comes an MMO, generally it is the first stop weeks to fix a bug max. Cryptic has indeed concentrated deploy the key test to further encourage players to + buy boxes of games, and even though the problem with the queue is not fully resolved. Also, Cryptic has also preferred to devote his time to establish an online store to its advantage and combining the system to be paying F2p, while the game is a paid subscription.

In short what remains in the game?

- The weight of the license: many players like me have come because it is Star Trek, and could not receive a key to open the private beta test the game before …

- The current lack of other MMOs new unifying: many players are currently waiting for an MMO (which connected the disappointments with Aoc, Warham, and more recently Aion), and thus came to try Star Trek Online, for attraction of novelty.

Cryptic recently announced that Atari had forced the launch of Star Trek Online, and that really comes through in the game that has a taste for “not finished”. Also in its balance sheet, Atari boasted sales of boxes … And we see that this goal can be an economic payback by selling box that drives the company, as well + the perpetuation of this MMO, eventually sentenced to receive only the fans of Star Boys trek, and even those not looking too quality finished product.

We would have been so merciful face an MMO of this quality if it would be licensed as Star Trek? Certainly not …
