Well as most of the people already stated at some point, the game war of ninja has taken some major steps since the newer engine of Naruto-Arena was released back in the day.
I could say that a certain milestone has been achieved yet again with the release of the new game and forum. The forum has upgraded itself to a whole new level with multiple new functions which are more or less efficient that the previous boards somewhat lacked. The eye-candy quality has also sky rocketed majorly through the roof. The new background is pleasing and doesn’t stress the eye nearly as much as the bright yellow- or blue seen on Naruto- and Soul-Board’s. The dark-deep blue is extremely pleasing as well as the other tepid colors seen on the forum. The overall look is amazing and I sure am impressed a lot with the overall functionality of the forum.
The game itself has a story line or mode in it now which is a nice bonus and will keep you entertained through the long hours which are yet to be spent around the game day after day. The new addition; items definitely spices up the engine a lot and I’m certainly hoping to see some ample strategy changes now with the few additions we got. Hands down for the custom made graphics. They are beautiful and whoever created them, deserves more than just a “Thank you”.
Overall, I couldn’t be more pleased with the release of “War of Ninja” and with the forum included, though, if I’d have to look up for something negative to say, I’d say that I miss the sitemap function (unless it’s implemented here), which offered the user to navigate around the forums a lot faster.
Thanks for your effort once again Admins and everyone involved with this project.

After experimenting the game engine slightly more profoundly, I noticed that there would be few things I’d like them to either change, remove or just take the idea to a further level. First things first. The thing that struck me the most was the audio. Alright, the audio seemed like a nice idea and brought back some late memories about the old Sasuke theme song, which was playing on the background on the older days of Naruto-Arena and you often found yourself humming the song while choosing characters or playing the game itself. Likewise, this game has audio which is in fact a nice add. But after a short while it starts to heckle you since it keeps repeating the same verse over and over again. Now if I turn down the audio, the awesome gameplay sounds and effects will be disabled as well. So listening to your own music and enjoying the cool in-game sounds at the same time is practically impossible with the current setup.
What I would suggest is that, we should either consider removing the gameplay music completely or add another volume dial or remote for the in-game music. By doing that we could get rid of the music while still enjoying the effects and sounds after you start or end your turn. Pretty efficient? Who knows. But I’d like to see some changes on this area.Another thing that might annoy some users after playing the game for few hours are the endless fumetti (speech bubbles). The storyline is creative and exquisite but unfortunately not all the users are fans of this particular thing. For example, at one part, I was required to click through this extremely long conversation, which these Ninjas were having about some clan issues within the Ninja World. Some users will not find that entertaining since they came looking for fast and smooth gaming without any extra obstacles which these long conversations would be. I’d either suggest you to try and shorten the conversations or just getting rid of the speech bubbles and replace them with scrolls or something that can contain at least 3 to 4 lines of content instead of one sentence.
That’s pretty much for it. Until the next update. I’m out.

Yes! I’m here again with a new piece of review or rant, whatever you wanna call it. This time it’s about the game itself. As of late, I have gotten a hang of the system a bit. I can function with some of the characters and items and build pretty advisable combinations with what I have. I’m not saying that I’m good or that you should take advice from me but, I’m not a complete rag doll either I guess. So, yeah, the items. To be perfectly honest, I love the items. I really do. They make your team and your characters a lot more versatile and useful than previously on the other arenas. The Item build allows the user to use a specific item as the fifth skill of the character and the item-skill can often be used only once per game. The great thing about items is that, you can swap them between your characters when you’re not in game currently of course, so the items are not assigned to certain characters only. As much as I like this new idea, it also has a slight downside within it’s effect. The characters are and will be a lot more harder to balance for now because of the items. For example, permanent invulnerability can probably be achieved at some point during the life span of Won or some sort of other effects as well. This is just a pure guess but the thing is that, items can and will boost your teams versatility, but also creates this “black hole” of imbalance inside the engine. I guess the easiest way to partially solve this problem would be that, some characters would not be able to use certain items. This is to prevent those unwanted advantages the items might cause.
Overall the items are more of a joy than a burden, at least for me. I’d hope a little more variety for the items and for the characters for now but it’s basically stupid to complain about it yet since first, the game is in its Beta stage and second, variety will come along when time passes. So in the end, there’s nothing to worry about for now. The universe will be saved after all and we can all go to bed tonight as well.

Well, thank you for the review, we appreciate the honesty with which you have looked over our game, and I shall reply to a couple of points you raised, as that is why I troll reviews of WoN in the first place.
1) The issue with sound is something that has come up quite a lot, and we are currently working on an update to separate the two audios from each other so that game sounds can be kept while music is muted, or the other way around.
2) Speech bubbles are purely there for one reason, the people who want to read them. You are capable of skipping them if you wish, and all the important information to the game is held in the mission descriptions anyway. However there is a lot of fluff that exists, and currently I have no other way of bringing it into the world, therefore speech will likely stay the same as it is, as the speech is where the story comes from, and if that was cut out WoN would be hardly any different from the other -arenas.
3) Yes, we are aware items are horrible to balance, but we do what we can with them. They are the main mechanical difference we have with other -arenas, and we don’t want to get rid of them (that, and each items picture is quite expensive in terms of paying for the art, so we aren’t ditching what we’ve invested so much in already) however we have been and will continue to work towards maintaining balance among items, and listening to user input on how they can be better balanced.
I hope this has cleared things up for you, and feel free to send me a message on the WoN mainsite if you have any further issues you would like addressed.
