Currently on my server there are 15846 registered accounts, however only 8745 of these have any population, which is a sign of an active account. That leaves 45% inactive accounts. Other servers report similar numbers in forums.
Counting by number of cities, out of a possible 10, there are only 2081 accounts with more than 1 city, or 13%, leaving 87% inactive.
This still doesn’t take into account that by now on established servers multiaccounting is ripe, with it being common to have 2-3 accounts in some form on each server.
Further to that, players from early servers often try their luck on later servers as well, to gain an advantage from experience.
There are currently 18 english and 6 language spesific Age2 servers.
Instead of counting Age1 servers on the log-in screen, we count servers from the official evony forums, which total 87.A rough total then becomes anywere between 2081/3*(18+6+87)=77,000 on the extreme lower point of the scale, to maybe 2081*(111)=231,000, or even 8745/3*(111)=324,000 or 8745*(111)=970,000.
Now, Evony does at times delete inactive players, at one stage the number of accounts was closer to 38,000 on this server. However, this stil only totals 38,000*(111)=4,2mill accounts. Counting all the servers there ever were a seperate name for at one stage, there are 217 Age1 servers plus the 24 Age2 servers. If we counted individual accounts on all these previously individual, but now merged servers, the total is only 38,000*(24+217)=9,158,000 accounts.
So you see, the 20mill I’m afraid was only ever a nice imaginary number.
A point to note is that Evony does not require the email adress you register with to be an actual adress. As such, to fill flats players will now register act01@gmail.com, act02, act03 etc for this purpose. Only if Evony also counts these “players”, then maybe, just maybe, will they reach the 20mill players they claim.
however a game called caesary online is going up.
