Top 10 MMO Games You Should NOT Miss:
No.10 XAOC
Filled with mysterious eastern metaphysics elements, XAOC showcases us a special ghost world. This theme brings fresh air to our traditional science fiction and magic market. It’s time to experience some new adventures which are based on a totally different culture. It’s a pity that Wind Thunder Studio has only released a teaser site yet. However, that’s why we should stand on Winking’s Booth.
No.9 The Agency
What I will talk about here is the PC version of The Agency. Please don’t confuse The Agency with spy-themed Facebook game The Agency: Covert Ops. So far, Sony Online Entertainment has revealed little content about this game and what we have known now is there are two factions, The United Network of Intelligence and Tactical Experts and The Paramilitary Global Operations Network. Upon starting the game the player has the opportunity to join one of the two agencies, which will determine the style of missions they receive during gameplay. So if you love FPS games and want to experience a new role as a spy.
No.9 APB
APB: All Points Bulletin has captured all GTA fans’ eyes at the first time it came to us. The story is about a constant conflict between Enforcers and Criminals in the city of San Paro. Twenty years ago, the father, also the mayor in San Paro, was murders by a gangster group. But now the daughter has risen up and become the new mayor of the city, and she will “fight to the last ditch”.
No.7 Rift: Planes of Telara
We have seen this game at last year’s E3, and it was titled Heroes of Telara. Now the heroes have gone and the rifts have come to the land of Telara. Members of the Heroes of Telara development team are veterans in MMO development, and they have worked on a dozen MMORPGs in a variety of genres, including Warhammer Online, The Lord of the Rings Online, Guild Wars, Dark Age of Camelot, EverQuest and EverQuest 2, Lineage and Lineage II, City of Heroes, The Matrix Online, Shadowbane and Star Wars Galaxies.
No.6 Dragon Nest
Anime Style, cute characters and intense combats, all these popular elements make the game awesome. After receiving a high rating in Korean and Chinese game market, Nexon has finally decided to bring this game to American fans. Nexon (NA) will provide the demo of Dragon Nest at E3 2010.
No.5 Vindictus
Vindictus is another action MMORPG which will be showcased at E3 by Nexon. Different from Dragon Nest’s cute style, Vindictus features a dark and bloody world and it has been rated as adult-only game.
No.4 Star Wars: the Old Republic
Guys from Bioware keep telling us the content, including the story-line, classes, timeline, comics and articles regarding what they have done to The Old Republic. The information is not bad but far from awesome. We need combat shows, skills, and the most important is when we can gain access to the endless Star Wars universe. As yet, Bioware has told us nothing about the release date. So the latest chance we can brandish the lightsaber is to attend this year’s E3.
No.3 Warhammer 40,000 MMOG
THQ will lift the veil of the untitled Warhammer 40,000 MMO Game at E3 2010. THQ has been working with Games Workshop on the first-ever MMO game based on the Warhammer 40,000 universe for nearly three years. According to an interview with THQ executive vice president of worldwide publishing Kelly Flock and Andy Jones in 2007, the 40K MMOG will be launched across North America, Europe, and Asia. The game has been developed by THQ’s Austin-based studio, Vigil Games.
No.2 Final Fantasy XIV
Final Fantasy series is one of the most popular games throughout the world. Square Enix’s last MMO title Final Fantasy XI was listed on Top 10 Moneymaking Online Games Of 2009 by Oliver Chiang, a contributor in the Silicon Valley bureau of Forbes, having hunted $117 million for the company. Although there are some problems in closed beta test of XIV — Massively even said it will “crush our hopes and dreams”, the game’s exquisite graphics, appealing story-line and abundant combats and non-combat contents will drive FF fans crazy at E3 if they provide the demo.
No.1 TERA
American players will get a chance to explore the Exiled Realm of Arborea on June 15, though the exciting time may only last a few minutes after long queuing. NA publisher En Masse CEO Dr. Jae-Heon Yang has told us what to expect at E3: “At E3, people will have the chance to experience firsthand what makes TERA’s gameplay so exciting. Select media will form a party with varied roles and venture forth to experience their first battle using our innovative action/adventure style combat system. During the show, players will see how TERA is changing the rules of MMO combat.
